Josie Sutphin - After Red Bank Catholic
I moved to Louisville, KY to dance with the eight-time and defending
national champion collegiate dance team, the University of Louisville
Ladybirds! While with the Ladybirds I won 2 collegiate national titles and
2 Grand Championships! Soon after winning my last title I decided I wanted
to get paid for dancing!! Who wouldn't?!
This past May I made the Indianapolis Colts
cheerleading team, so currently I am dancing (its all dance no cheering)
in the NFL living in Indianapolis! I literally owe all my success to KB. I
learned everything I know in my ten years of dancing there. Without dance
I have no idea where I'd be! I am also a choreographer for Vroc
choreography, traveling around the country putting routines together, and
teach hip-hop and Jazz at OnStage Dance Academy in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dance is my life and I am so thankful for everything Kathryn Barnett did
for me! |

Devin Stypa began
dancing at Kathryn Barnett School of Dance at age five. After taking
lessons for two years at Dance Plus, Devin knew that KBSD was the right
place for her! She studied ballet, tap, and jazz; and after three years,
she became a member of the Kathryn Barnett School of Dance Traveling
Troupe at age eight. As a member of the Red Troupe, she was introduced to
classes that are more difficult and the experience of seeing what the
competition world was like. With the KBSD Traveling troupe, Devin has
competed in competitions such as International Dance Challenge, Starpower
Talent Competition, Access Broadway Talent Competition, Starbound, and the
Power of Dance, just to name a few. Through competitions, Devin was able
to be a part of numerous workshops and summer intensives, such as PowerPak
and Wild. Devin also brought her dance skills to high school,
specifically with the Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School's theatre
company Tower Players, for which she was a student choreographer / dance
captain for three years. Devin's favorite memories, besides competing,
are with student teaching and, most importantly, Holiday Express, which
she performed with for seven years. Devin will miss her KBSD family as
she moves onto Montclair State University, but she will always remember
everything she has learned. |
